A host's living room mid-watch party, a small group gathered round the big screen
Hosting · London & Newcastle Pilot

Your living room. The big screen. A night people talk about.

We're looking for warm, reliable people in London and Newcastle to host small watch parties. You don't need to be an entertainer. You need a screen, a sofa, a welcome, and a few hours around whatever's on.

The deal

What you give, what you get

A Watch Party is a small gathering for 4-8 guests, matched by PLY, in your home around a big screen moment: a film, a finale, a match or the night everyone's talking about. You get a simple guide that tells you exactly how to run it. And yes, hosting is paid: you earn for every guest who attends, paid automatically after the event. We'll talk you through the details on your screening call.

We provide

  • The guests, matched and booked through PLY
  • The line-up and which watch party you're hosting
  • A step-by-step hosting guide
  • The group chat, address sharing and all guest comms through the PLY app
  • Payment per guest, automatic after the event

You provide

  • A clean, comfortable space that seats 4-8 guests
  • A big screen or TV with the night's viewing on, and sound that works
  • Soft drinks and light snacks: crisps and chocolate, no nuts
  • A warm welcome and somewhere to gather round
  • A few hours around the watch party, afternoon or evening

Questions

The things you're wondering

Do I need hosting experience?

No. The guide walks you through every step, from the welcome to the goodbyes. If you're warm and reliable and you've got a screen people can gather round, you're qualified.

What kind of screen do I need?

A TV big enough for a small group to watch comfortably, with sound that works. It doesn't need to be huge. If you're not sure yours is suitable, we'll talk it through on your call.

Who are the guests?

People aged 25-40, matched by PLY's personality quiz, who've booked through the app. Everyone agrees to our Guest Code of Conduct before they attend, and we collect allergy information at booking.

Is my address kept private?

Yes. Guests only receive your address on the day of the event, through the PLY app. We use your postcode during screening purely to assess location, and it's never shared.

What about safety?

All comms run through the PLY platform, never personal numbers. Watch parties wrap when the watching does. Every guest completes a safety check-in afterwards, and we review anything that doesn't look right immediately. You can flag anything to us at any point.

Is alcohol allowed?

You provide soft drinks and snacks. Guests may bring a bottle if they like, but watch parties are kept moderate, that's part of what makes them work.

How much do I earn?

You're paid for every guest who attends, automatically, within days of the event. We'll talk through the exact numbers on your screening call.

What does it cost me?

A few bags of crisps, some chocolate (no nuts) and soft drinks, plus the screen you already have. Everything else comes from us.
